Maybe one day I'll get through the first part of Guy Gavriel Kay's "The Sumner Tree", which is called Rachel's Song without crying. Not today though.
If this is a prequel it makes seteth returning to fódlan SO funny. Hey rhea! It’s been 1000 years how’ve you been? I had a great time traveling the world for a treatment for my daughter — what do you mean you outlawed the printing press, covered up gasoline, and became isolationist
Anyone want to commission me so I can afford a Switch 2 in September? =')
Telling your OC lore out loud to friends is so funny because it looks cool and poignant in your head and then actively telling it makes you feel like a 3 year old holding an etch a sketch
QRP with your most popular piece on bsky ~ Gets more relevant every day...

I'm actually going to use this as a jumping-off point for a more general thread on zines. I think a lot of us writers and artists see a zine application as one-way evaluation, where the mods judge our work & decide if we're a fit for the project. But the evaluation needs to go both ways. (1/?)
Anyone putting together a zine: Vet your finance and shipping mods VERY carefully. Back in 2023, Cym/Kroalias signed up to be the finance and shipping mod for dozens of physical zines and then did not ship what people had paid for. The money went missing and much of it has still not been paid back.
So I have enough peachy fabric for 3-4 plushies. I think I'm going to attempt Academy Yuri, timeskip Hubert and then maybe a Sylvain or something for my wife. We'll see what we learn.
Attack 18! Umbra for @lyricanna.bsky.social ! The crystal growth is such a cool concept! #artfigh // #art
They specifically want books before 2022 because they are uncorrupted by AI. They need books that have not been poisoned by the poison they are making. It's just like pre-war steel. They invented cultural radiation.
No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.
Hey, remember the days when you could type in "thing I want to learn tutorial" in dA's search bar and it would give you what you were looking for? Yeah me too =')
I bought a pattern for an anime plushie base which has been fun to work with. Unfortunately, figuring out plushie hair is giving me a headache. Need to find some tutorials, I think. Clothes I think will be easier since I do that for me anyways. Same thing only mini lol
The Canadian Government has a big AI boner right now, but you can still answer the survey with as much spite as you can muster.
Canadian arts and culture folks: the federal government has launched a (methodologically flawed) survey on "the Cultural Sector's readiness for Artificial Intelligence". If you're ready to resist or refuse genAI, here's your chance to let them know. pch.research-recherche.ca/f/s.aspx?lan...
Do you hate TERFs but love the idea of magic school where students get sorted into houses and may even get to fight god? May I interest you in Fire Emblem: Three Houses?
People who keep pointing out that golf courses use as much water as data centres as some sort of defence of data centres drastically underestimate the amount we also hate golf.
Fuck off. If anything is "millennial", it's those cool transparent colors our iMacs, Gameboys, and Tamagotchis came in. No fucking millennial likes the house flipper grey. Call it a millennial paint job when I can see through the exterior of a car because it's Glacier Purple like my GBA.
No fuck off we're not calling this "Millennial grey" this shit was dictated completely by boomer retiree house flippers we absolutely had NO say in this
I don't like that larper has become a new insult, considering larping is an actual cool and niche hobby, and we already had words like poser or performative loser.
