It was a privilege the other night to have one of my older short films be included in this old vaudeville theater for the first of a monthly showcase of local filmmakers dating back to 1936.

This is Major Henry Rathbone. He is one of the supporting characters in my latest novel, “Abraham Lincoln’s Traveling Medicine Show.” Did you know he’s considered one of the most forgotten men in history?

I’m currently in the regrouping, marketing phase after finishing my third novel. So not quite back to the “writing regularly” mode. But best of luck to those that are. Your voice, and the stories you tell are important and needed.

A couple of minor characters in my novel are prostitutes. But the real whores in the story are the politicians. Kind of like real life.

I never thought I would love this collection of stories as much as I did. What a wonderful peek into the 1930’s. Despite their age, most of these stories felt extremely modern.

It's here. Paperback available on Amazon. I'm looking into other options as well. Available everywhere on ebook. I hope you'll consider giving this book a read. I'm very proud of it and confident you will enjoy it.

One of the things I love about being an indie writer is I can fly under the radar of the book banners. While the notoriety may add some readers, I'm more thrilled that my novels are available to all so the reader can form their own opinions. Maybe I'll open an eye or two. Or at least entertain.

This novel by indie author @dh-schleicher.bsky.social defies genre so I can only categorize it as FANTASTIC. At times devastating, often relatable, and oddly optimistic. This is one solid, smart read.

I know there's a lot going on right now in the world that has many distracted and depressed. And believe me, I'm one of them. But as I finish the last tweaking of my third novel, I will warn you, I'm going to be talking about it. It's literally the only thing that's keeping me going these days.
