Postdoc🚨! Come join our HFSP team to uncover how chromatin moves in cells and what this means for genome function! Great opportunity to combine single-cell genomics, live imaging and polymer physics in the unique mammalian retina with @andersshansen.bsky.social, Davide Michieletto & Sandra Tenreiro

Pretty ingenious campaign of my university to leave out the 'e' to protest against the catastrophic plans of the Berlin Senate to cut the university budget.
🔗https://www.fu-berlin.de/sites/haushaltskuerzungen-berliner-senat/index.html
Our study on the impact of altered serotonin (5-HT) signalling on the developing sensory cortex is now live at Nature Comms. We use longitudinal in vivo imaging of 5-HT and neural activity to show that this neuromodulator is buffered in early life to promote bottom-up instruction of sensory areas.
David Liu @harvard.edu beautifully articulates the criticality of basic science funding for developing revolutionary therapeutics like life-saving base editors 👏 youtu.be/8YhJM6zxYDw?...

While I applaud Europe taking a step to fund bringing scientific excellence to Europe, the ERC’s current success rates at 10% for Europe based scientists is statistically at lottery levels. The total ERC budget should double across the board aiming at doubling funding rates.
Just wrapped up 2 inspiring days at ISCO – Innovations in Single Cell Omics! A great community came together to share science and fun. A big THANK YOU to all our fantastic speakers and interactive participants
Excited to share our paper with Jakobs Lab @mpi-nat.bsky.social on the in situ structure of the prohibitin complex in human mitochondria! Although mitochondria contain >1000 proteins, it seems a single, 2-subunit complex occupies 1-3% of the crista membrane area 🤯 www.nature.com/articles/s41...
