I have reached out to the Rahma Islamic Centre community, my heart is with them and the Winnipeg Muslim community after the horrific shooting at Rahma Islamic Centre on Wednesday evening. We need a strategy to combat the rise in hate crimes. (1/3)

1/ More than 99% of CUPE cabin crew workers at WestJet voted in favour of a strike mandate. We've seen what Mark Carney does when workers legally exercise their rights. The Liberals have used Section 107 multiple times to stamp out worker power, forcing them back to work without a fair contract.

Today, my colleague @leahgazan.bsky.social and I wrote a letter calling on the Minister of Jobs, @pattyhajdu.bsky.social, to refrain from violating WestJet workers’ right to strike.

1/ This is the third time in six months that Benjamin Netanyahu has flown through Canadian airspace. Contrary to the GAC spokesperson’s claim, he does not have the freedom to make that decision. Foreign leaders are required to seek permission before doing so. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Canadians deserve better than being told we must choose between climate action and affordability. The Green New Deal is a blueprint to tackle both: lower energy costs, reduced emissions and one million good-paying jobs across the country. Join us to learn more and how we can fight for it together.

1/ The climate emergency is at our doorstep. Cities are choked in smoke, families are being displaced and entire communities are burning. Canadians deserve a plan that tackles the climate crisis head-on. That's what the Green New Deal is about.

Uncontrolled AI is a threat to our jobs, our environment, and our communities. Canadians across the political divide know this, and that’s why they’re fighting back. The public must assert its role in the technologies shaping our lives, and draw hard lines where AI causes nothing but harm.

In this photograph, PM Mark Carney is touring the Government Operations Centre - the nerve centre that leads the “integrated federal response to all-hazard events of a national interest.” The workforce there has been cut in half thanks to Carney’s public service cuts, from 100 to just 50 workers. 🧵

This contract is clearly designed to enable both Trump's mass deportation campaign, and his move to use ICE to manipulate the midterm elections. But it’s also a reminder of how deeply entwined Canada's elites are with US corporate and government interests. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/07/21/n...

Thomson Reuters to share American information with ICE in new deal

While the company insists it has "safeguards" in place to prevent misuse of the information, some experts say the US$125-million deal is a "red flag."

Today, we are mourning the loss of Gord Delbridge, whose lifelong commitment to working people and the labour movement left an indelible mark on Manitoba and across Canada. His passion for solidarity and social justice extended far beyond the workplace. (1/3)

Wildfires are getting more and more devastating because of global warming, which is primarily caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Trump won’t say that because he’s in the industry’s pocket. If he wants compensation for the wildfire smoke, he should go after the oil and gas giants responsible.

L’annonce de tarifs de 50 % sur toute une gamme de produits canadiens est la dernière grenade économique lancée par-delà la frontière par un président hors de contrôle qui a perdu tout contact avec la réalité. /1
