I do find the confounded reaction to Wilson criticising Nolan’s Odyssey kinda cute. Cos yeah, a scholar immersed in a work may judge an adaptation harshly for missing dimensions they’ve brought out. And the same scholar can be so close to the work that they miss the art in the adaptation.

I dunno man. Why should I believe the bigots when they say they’d have no issue with us gay folk if we just got rid of the trans people? They’re becoming violently angry and want to hurt us because an inclusive swim club wore speedos in public.
I just think ‘I don’t have anything against trans people but our struggles are different’ from gay men is short-sighted. You know whose struggles were different to ours during the HIV/AIDS crisis? Lesbians. They still nursed gay men and led the fight. Should they not have? Was it ‘forced-teaming’?

My prevailing opinion on GoT later seasons is that the biggest thing missing is dramatisation in the dialogue. Earlier seasons are always providing historical precedents from within the story to frame current actions. Then they just stop when they run out of book material.
I cringe at non-sex scenes in movies. I have never watched a non-sex scene that was actually imperative to the story. It always makes me feel like the producer is a virgin.
