Discourse regarding con fees recently has made me think that cons really should have never gone corporate/legitimate. the best ones ive been to are cheap clusterfucks run by the local anime nerds where everyone can come and have a good time without spending $500 just to get in the door
A really basic thing that people who use generative AI to make flyers, menus, book covers etc don't seem to grasp is that it makes it look like a scam. Using an image which has been generated makes it look like the real thing doesn't exist. No one wants to buy a ticket or whatever. It looks fake.
