I am going through Bram Stoker’s earliest notes on DRACULA today - they include a list of the powers and features of the Count (then named “Wampyr” before Stoker stumbled on “Dracula”), many of which are never elucidated in the book…

• panters cannot pant hım; looks like someone else (38b) • insensitive to music (38b) • despises death and the dead (38b) . is affected only by relics that are older than he is (38b) • can create evil thoughts in others, banish good ones, and destroy will (38b) • cannot be photographed; photographs come out black or like a skeleton corpse (4, 38b) • can tell if bodies are dead or alive (4) • sees man semingly dead and says "no" (4) • has to be brought or carried over threshold. Dracula visits an asylum where he stumbles on the threshold (4, 16) • named "Count Wampyr" (1) • can determine and prove if people are sane (24) green taper with blue flame in Count's house (43va)

I feel like all this weekend, BBC Radio 4 has been playing these hour long shows about the rise in Christianity in the most biased, uncritical way. Ignoring the rise in Right Wing "Christianity" and the fact that a small town vicar running a food bank and a the CEO of PrayerApp™️ are not the same.

Every time I read that someone has said something controversial on Twitter I have to have a whole conversation in my head to get back to the idea that people other than Elon Musk and AI shaggers are on Twitter. Imagine being on Twitter in 2026. How embarrassing.

Ghosts was an anthology comic published by DC from 1971 through 1982. Each issue featured a few original stories and, occasionally, a one page true ghost encounter drawn from the files of Ripley’s Believe It or Not. The covers were almost always bangers like this one. #PhantomsFriday

Had an online meeting today that I was expecting to last an hour or so. Instead it was about 6 mins long and I was told my idea (which I explained for the first time in the meeting) was perfect and I should just go and write it as fast as possible.
