I cannot stress this enough. If you pledge on my $1 tier through the website, you pay $1, I get about 85c, Patreon and the card processors get about 15c. If you pledge on the same tier through the iOS app, you pay $1.30 and Apple get the extra thirty cents.

reapersun@reapersun.bsky.social · 2d agoIf you pledge to my patreon through the ios app you will pay an additional 30% fee (Apple's fee, they keep all that!) AND your pledge is held by Apple for 75 days. So if you pledge to me in March maybe I will get that money for rent in June.
How can you avoid it? Use your computer or the web browser on your phone to start your sub. After that if you want to use the app to browse it should be no problem, and future sub charges should not be affected (unless Apple gets shitty about it.)
