That's an incredibly interesting first defence for Kato on paper. Not in result, SMJ isn't winning, but I find him super underrated in how he builds to a big match. He was incredible in the Kikuta World build last year and his build to the YAMATO title match was one of my favourites.

Kagetora/Homare kinda sick, it's basically Homare's Shun/Diamante 1. More into the prospect of them working the knee in the tournament and doing a role reversal in the semi final with Guchi on top and Homare as the underdog. Would dig it as something totally different and unexpected

Triangle match awesome. X Nova are a fun trio cos they all bring something a bit different. 2 of the flashiest guys on the roster teaming with a guy who spams armbars. Kimura/Ryoya proper babyfaces while Homare doesn't mind pulling a cheat or trick. They mesh great while being fun individually
Taguchi France btw was my French/French-Canadian spin off of the classic and beloved Taguchi Japan. The Taguchi/Rene Dupree tag team had 3 5* matches in that run 😭 Workhorses 😭

Best part of the Kato title match was that he wrestled it with a ton of confidence. You can count the amount of big singles matches he's had in his career on one hand, but you never would've guessed it from his performance. Really hope he keeps that up.
