I need to workshop the analysis of fic engagement factors because the results are really interesting, directly addressing a lot of common questions fic writers have, but it seems like people bounce off it. Is it the logarithms? General linear modeling as a method? tiny font on graphs? idk

I tried appling general linear models to the hits, kudos, and comments BTS fic receive on AO3, given factors of fic age, length, rating, completeness and primo ship. By modeling these factors together, we can see how much they affect work reception. Details ao3.org/works/76528861/chapters/208145256

The added emphasis on korean language is so weird when BTS deliberately produced all English songs to get their first noms. It's like pretending the academy never had a language bias while also demonstrating how they are still fixated on it. Exotification dressed as representation.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. i can't deal with ARMY in these situations. like yes BTS made a good call, and yes the Grammys have a long history of using genre categories to avoid acknowledging who is actually popular, but this doesn't give us license to assume the worst about everyone or everything outside of BTS.

In 2021 and 2022, BTS were used for the Grammys spectacle without main category noms. They have no reason to trust this institution to respect Arirang's success, especially with this terrible (non-)genre award category. This is better than boycotting just the new award or later refusing to perform.

☹️ They don't have horseshoe crabs anymore. Which is probably best for those crabs but ☹️ I will have to wait for another chance to see them for myself. Honestly it would be better to meet them in the wild anyway. ONE DAY!

I'll be visiting my home and native land for a couple weeks and there is an aquarium in Toronto with a horseshoe crab touch tank 👀 is this my chance? is it worth the hassle of getting into that city? I haven't been in ages.
