I wrote a post about Clarkson's claims of vote anomalies the 2014 election while I was in grad school, years before I knew I'd also be at Wichita State. The blog I posted it on has been dead for years, but I just reposted it to my site: brianamos.com/ks_vote_frau...

Wichita State researcher tests voting machine counts, paying for hand recount of ballots from the Aug. 3 primary election.

Just today, I got a text from an anti-Hamilton PAC and a Marshall canvasser knocking my door. The primary was last week, Republicans are not taking this senate race for granted.

Happy Election Day! Early in-person voting is done, and the numbers from the SOS this morning should be nearly final (some counties are stragglers on reporting). We had 162k, which is well above Aug 24 (63k), but below the historically high Aug 22 (215k). ike-lab.com/dailyev_2608... #ksleg

advance voting chart. in person steadily climbed and is at 162k, mail sent leveled out at 64k, mail returned had a slow climb and is at 40k

It's a bummer. My logs say @ike-lab.com has gotten more than 100,000 unique visits this month. Our big election spike in 2024 was just under 5,000. The August primary is not getting 20x the attention. Also, there are a lot of 404s looking for WordPress files and directories, which IKE doesn't use.

fascinating story from one of the best movie data guys about one of the best movie data guys stephenfollows.com/p/what-just-...

There are big primaries for both parties, including for an open governor's seat. Maybe even bigger is a constitutional amendment to move the state supreme court from a merit/retention system to nonpartisan elections - Republicans are looking to push the court more conservative with the change.

let this be a lesson to deal with your feelings of gender anxiety and masculine inadequacy with a hobby or therapy or something and not a high stakes senate election

Lol the RAM I used to build my computer a year ago is now worth more than the entire build did. I’m available for investing advice for a reasonable fee hmu

The first sample ballots for Kansas's constitutional amendment to move from merit/retention to nonpartisan election for the state supreme court are getting posted on the state's system. It's a lot! #ksleg

An entire page of a ballot dedicated to one amendment vote

We bought a multi-pack of kids’ card games, and this is the crazy eights deck. Am I wrong in saying this is just unplayable? The cards within numbers need to be different colors, and there have to be colors across numbers that match, right?
