NSF email to GRFP applicants from TODAY: you MUST submit official academic transcripts with your most recent academic status! First year PhDs often don't get these until the end of this semester. No clarification opportunity because of government shutdown. Application deadline is next week. 🫠

Please disregard the previous guidance in the application module that indicated applicants may upload unofficial or official transcripts. The GRFP Solicitation NSF 25-547 states that, “Only official academic transcripts with the applicant’s most recent academic status will be accepted.” All applications submitted for the 2026 GRFP Competition MUST include official transcripts. Applications that include unofficial transcripts will not be considered for review. All applications must be submitted by the field of study deadline specified in the GRFP Solicitation.
