I find it troubling that in what’s supposed to be a democratic process, we’ve “invited” the perspectives of institutions supporting using taxpayer dollars for a renovation, allowing them to frame the entire conversation from the beginning while the public has to wait their turn.

The neighborhood Head Raccoon just left a note asking for a side table to the kiddie pool for snacks, implored us to build a more robust fountain in front yard, and noted that they wld gladly pay in "succulent koi" for a studio apartment in the attic. Is this typical raccoon behavior for Portland?

I agree and I know you meant "algorithms", but I like the idea of a predatory logarithm. Evil slide rules everywhere
Generative AI psychosis and delusion is a real thing, as is the degradation of analytical skills. This increasingly makes conversations difficult with those who have "converted" to using it. Along with the clickbait-ification of everything and the adoption of predatory logarithms. Stay vigilant.

Hey PDX we're about to have a Smoke Week, and AQI forecasts vary between 170 and 500 (2020 levels, remember that?) Get your air purifiers, seal up your windows, and cancel outdoor activities. You don't want to breathe this stuff in.
House of Dragons has had some ups and downs but I do think it's compulsively watchable and well-acted. The dragon battles this season have been outrageous. It probably helps that I never read the GRRMSilmarillion or any related footnotes. (Do not tell me anything or I will wrath you into the sun.)
I could be wrong, but something insidious appears to be happening to online discourse, with the "this almost unseen TV series is the best thing since crack" formula of articles where you have to click through and scroll to get the actual name of something... having trickled down into posting. 1/?
