I know all the focus is on the bad actors who are ruining peer review with AI and what have you since the pandemic, but the truth is most academics, quietly and without compensation, continue to do the labor of generously and critically evaluating the work of their colleagues to advance knowledge. 🙏

Kudos to Liverpool for actually running a 2-phase proof-of-concept pilot of Copilot rather than rushing to universal roll out. That universities that pride themselves on their research status have adopted a roll out first, test maybe later approach is telling. (And that Copilot is opted for, ditto).

A Book Review should understand three (3) things: 1. what was the book trying to do? 2. to what degree did the book accomplish that thing? 3. why is somebody reading a review of this book?
Watching the Wishbone episode about the Odyssey and at the end they actually have the dog explain it began as oral poetry and quote some of the lines in the ancient Greek, this show did not have to go this hard but they really made this wonderfully.
