This year I’ve become a cycle to work kind of guy… just under 30km round trip. Feels real nice to get a big dose of exercise in the morning & evening and also get to see some nice parts of the city in the process. So much quicker than the bus. Even get my Paris-Roubaix simulation going on…

Around 1990, my dad who was an amateur gardener planted several rose bushes around his house… 36 years later he is gone but his roses continue to grow, and my mother dropped me down a few of them the other day… This is a nice thing.

My American parents-in-law are over visiting this week, and I’m fighting with every fibre, the urge to say: ‘enjoy that salad while you can now, won’t ya’ when I see them eating salad…
