Photograph taken using a macro setting of the bright pink, open blooms of a phlox plant suffering a little from the lack of rain.

Have cropped the image significantly so the blooms fill the frame. Four obvious open, vibrantly pink petals and one part overlapped so its centre is out of view. There are five petals on each flower, totally flat with the edges turning up. The stamens are only just visible as unusually the centre drops down into the stem (like a plughole). There are some white splodges near the centre and at the very edges.
