Always hugely exciting to get a delivery from @dgb-history.bsky.social / @rabeari.bsky.social's 'Video Games and the Humanities' series. Today it's this wonderful volume on 'Video Games between Postcolonialism and Postcommunism' by @andrei-nae.bsky.social! www.degruyterbrill.com/document/doi...

I had a great workshop on my upcoming book, "Video Games between Postcolonialism and Postcommunism" at CEEEGS 2024 in Wroclaw 🇵🇱. Dorota Kołodziejczyk, one of the leading figures in postdependency studies, was a fabulous interlocutor and her praise really made me blush.
I am very honoured and humbled to have been elected vice-chair of Central and Eastern European Game Studies for a three-year term. Central and Eastern Europe is turning into a vibrant region for game studies and alongside our new chair Agata Waskiewicz I hope to contribute to its growth.
@gamesbeyond.bsky.social was a great conference with two extraordinary keynotes from which I learned a lot. I was very happy to present my recent work on dialectics in video games and look forward to a possible collective volume. Congratulations to @nattgoo.bsky.social et al. for organising it.
📢 If you would like take part in the workshop, please follow the link in the first comment, read the description, and send an email to andrei.nae@lls.unibuc.ro detailing in around 150 words your relation to postcolonialism and/or postcommunism and video games. DEADLINE JULY 24
