Just finished @chriskempshall.bsky.social's Star Wars: Star Pilots. It is a perfectly pitched bit of in-universe history. The weariness of tone and sense of loss, from Wedge Antilles et al that Chris uses throughout, makes this not a book of daring do, but of the experiences of the lucky survivors.

There was something that felt really radical about having a TV hero whose superpower was not just intelligence but thoughtfulness, and a kind of moral seriousness. Who showed from that first episode that you “win” by seeking to understand what seems like a threat.

If you’ve already received copies of ‘Star Wars: Star Pilots’ and also finished reading it, then leaving reviews on the likes of Amazon, Goodreads, Storygraph etc can be really helpful in kicking the Algorithm into action to advertise the book. Then more sales = hopefully more future books!

Almost done with “Star Pilots” and it is getting me more and more excited for my big California adventure for Star Wars Celebration. If you like Star Wars Space combat and were a fan of old and new books and games focused on pilots, you’ll like this. @chriskempshall.bsky.social did a great job.
Whilst today is a particularly good day to tell far-right and authoritarian politicians to go fuck themselves, we should also remember that *every day* is a good day to do exactly that.
Not only does Star Pilots show how Wedge Antilles is the guy it also shows how he refuses to believe that he is the guy which just makes him even more the guy

It sounds like hyperbole to suggest the current administration WANTS measles to become common again but I can’t think of much they’d be doing differently if they didn’t want that. (I think some of them really are eugenicists who legit prefer disease spread to prevention; others just don’t care)
