I caught up with SAMH to chat about the Wee Pink Dot project. I'm always happy to help raise awareness of mental health issues and press for better support, whether that means engaging with the great organisations we have working locally, or with those like SAMH who are active in Parliament.

This Disability Pride Month, I've been thinking about how too many folk still can't enjoy our local spaces due to a lack of accessible facilities. I'm delighted Eden Court secured Changing Places Toilets funding, and encourage others to consider applying to future rounds.

I was delighted to visit Knocknagael with Community Land Scotland to see the inspiring, ambitious plans being driven forward by local people. It’s folk like Maria who throw themselves into projects and drive them forward that get things done – but it shouldn’t be this hard.

Delighted Donna was happy for a puppy to join us as we chatted crofting! Wee Chicxulub had been a bit poorly over the weekend, so was sticking to me like a whelk. He's learned a lot about the Scottish Crofting Federation's priorities for this parliamentary session.

A walkaround with Inverness BID and meetings with the Inverness Chamber of Commerce and Visit Inverness Loch Ness has taken me to many local independents over the last week, including Charlie's Cafe, Rouge, Judith Glue, North Designerwear, Xoko, and Sùgh Ùr.

Like many who've been in touch with me last week, I was concerned by reports around decisions made in the Highland Council's Licensing Committee. I spoke with the BBC and said my primary thought when stories like this emerge is always with victims and survivors.

The withdrawal of Loganair services between Inverness and the Northern Isles is a great concern for islanders, but also has huge potential impacts on Inverness and the Inner Moray Firth, limiting a key pipeline of skilled energy workers. I raised this with the FM today.

Following discussions with PCS members and others, I asked the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Reform to recognise the value of policy input from the Highlands and employment locally in Inverness & Nairn when looking at changes. I'll continue to follow this up 👇

Independence is a means to an end. I've seen far too much progress halted over the last twelve years - Scotland can do better.

Thank you, @calumkerr.bsky.social and David Barratt, for becoming the 56th and 57th SNP candidates to sign Out for Indy's election pledge. The SNP must not lose sight of what is at stake this May for LGBTQIA+ Scots and all those being used as scapegoats by the failed Westminster parties.

I welcomed John Swinney to Inverness this week as he announced that a new SNP Government will introduce first refusal for private tenants whose landlord decides to sell the property they live in. We're making a real difference in tackling the housing crisis.

I'm working onboard an HST this morning on my way home to Inverness, thinking about this week's news that the contract has been awarded for the delivery of Class 22s that will replace these starting from next year, supported by £67m from the SNP Government. Very exciting stuff - can't wait 🚂 💛

🏠 Housing is my top priority. Our new budget is great news for housing - we're building homes, buying back empty properties, finding suitable accommodation for households with children, and preventing homelessness and extortionate rents. I will always work hard to tackle housing issues.

It was a bonus trip to the stadium for me this week to mark Scottish Apprenticeship Week, chatting to the seven boys who are earning while learning at Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC. We must support local talent if we want ICTFC – and Scotland! – to be competitive.

Delighted to hear from the First Minister this week during his visit to Inverness that the £2 bus fare cap will be in effect across the whole region by the end of the month, making journeys more affordable. The SNP is tackling the cost of living and encouraging the use of public transport. 🚌
