lo de siempre en otra red social. Si queréis verme hablar de política veníos a mastodon (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ "Techno pessimist" and "AI hater" 😎
This is the same old "you can't solve weightlifting with a forklift" thing that happens again and again with current consumer uses of AI: the point of reading a book is not to finish the book easily, it's to READ the book, especially if the book asks you to do something that feels difficult
Axios writer: I melted my brain with AI. Not only can I no longer read, but I don't even understand the purpose of reading anymore. Here's how you can also do this. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...
if you are using genAI for "good left wing images" you are still getting blocked like the right wing chuds, you can put as much glitter on the doo doo pile it is still poop
Brains turning to mush... As I recall, my father told me to read Russian novels even if I didn't understand them because striving was good for the brain. 'Last of the Mohicans' isn't even that hard. AI isn't the Axios writer's reading buddy. It's a worm, and it's feeding on [their] cognition.

Exploitive employers are Big Mad that younger people are refusing to be exploited.

Hey! Did/Do you work at Saber Interactive? Were you replaced by AI (or do you suspect you were?) Wanna talk about it? Please get in touch. You can do so via discord @adashtra or Signal @adashtra.87 or even email aparrish@kotaku.com Reposts greatly appreciated
Your occasional reminder that there are places to do this for free or minimal $$. Neocities, for one, is currently great for this. I personally use the code provided by rarebit.neocities.org for all of my comics. Cartoonist Coop also has great resources like this vid: youtu.be/cMuKaDJ5rq0?...

Shit like this is why "never sign a deal with webtoon, host your own webcomic" has landed in my top 5 pieces of advice for young artists

2/ In 2001, Borsook said tech "libertarianism" reflected an adolescent mindset, with a craving for unchecked independence & resistance to constraint. She warned that tech libertarians wanted an anti-human world that worked more like a computer. From "Cyberselfish," a book based on her 90s writing:
1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it). But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that
The aguará guazú it's SO PRETTY and creepy, but pretty!!!! 💕
See, this is a cryptid. This is Slenderman's fursona Slenderdog.
Did you see the neolithic pig shaped pot????? I DESPERATELY NEED ONE
As a heads up, the book recommendation site The Book Rex uses Claude AI coding. Normally, I don't go hunting for this sort of thing. Not being an experienced programmer, I don't think I can reliably spot it most of the time. Yet they were just so sloppy here, it stood out.
Now sounds like a great time to register a domain for your comic and migrate, folks.

Kitbash has a dimly promising no-ai training policy for their assets...but I'd need to see something with a lot more spine to ever consider returning to AS as a platform
OH!? @maxxburman.bsky.social congrats!? If new ownership is willing to support the actual art community and moderate out AI influence and the cascade of slop, I'd be happy to welcome artstation back from "I Will Never Post Here Or Think About It Again" Hell magazine.artstation.com/2026/08/kitb...

Today, ArtStation and Sketchfab are becoming part of KitBash, the company behind 3D art platforms KitBash3D and Greyscalegorilla.

For Pride Month, i wrote about Stop!! Hibari-kun, an accidentally trans-positive gag manga from the 1980s about a girl who serves sickening fish and her idiot boyfriend’s inability to chill out about it. @aftermath.site
