SDCC 2025: Nostalgia as a Double Edged Sword Panel
Audiences now more than ever depend on the concept of nostalgia—how the love for past decades dictates people’s moods, financial choices, and futures. Why do so many generations cling to their past pop culture loves, and how is that affecting the space as a whole? Law Sharma (actor, entertainment journalist) moderates a panel of pop culture experts as they discuss the sociopolitics of loving yesteryear, artistic expression while looking through the lens of the past, and the love/hate relationship with nostalgia that can help or hinder an audience from new and interesting ideas. Meet the Panelists: ● Dale Godboldo: Actor (The All New Mickey Mouse Club '91-'96), Producer, Author, and Founder of the Always in the Club Foundation. ● Peter Guse: Digital Creator (The Millennial Reset), Author "When Adulting Feels Insulting". ● Bryce Charles: Actor (Fuller House, Team Starkid), Singer, Voiceover Artist ● Marwa Abdalla: Instructor of of Television, Film, and New Media at San Diego State University ● Victoria Male: Writer/Producer (What Ever Happened to Baby J?)
