The way this United team approach playing against 10 men really is a lesson in incompetence. Performance wasn’t deserving of a win in any way. #mufc

England probably a missed penalty away from a positive result against the world's best nations... sigh. Decent performance I thought.
It's still a poor result and Carrick really isn't helping himself: 🚩 Persisting with Cunha up front 🚩 Taking Mainoo off 🚩 Zirzkee first sub 🚩 The lack of intensity on the touchline (feel like it's reflecting on the pitch). #mufc

Frugal or foolish? Manchester United may regret not backing Carrick
Another left-back has been a priority Manchester United all summer, but there seems to be no sign of one coming to Old Trafford
theguardian.com
Hindsight is great isn't it. Now seeing so many 'United should never have appointed Carrick' takes. Where were they in the summer? Nowhere. Because it was the logical decision. He should have been backed more with a LB and potentially other defenders. #mufc
Brighton are always United’s kryptonite and it felt like this version of United, with Carrick trying to play through teams, would be vulnerable to them. This new/changed style simply isn’t working for Carrick and a loss v Fulham would be really damaging. #mufc

The Foden red was a poor decision, giving the goal was a poor decision and Manchester United played poorly… what an incredibly frustrating game of football that was to watch. #mufc
I know people will blame him for the Everton goal but Shaw had a really good game today. That combo with Rashford is back in a big way. #mufc
