If you argue that civil rights should be stripped away strategically, you have to use the hard slur of the group. For example: The Defense of Marriage Act is The F*g*ots Shouldn't Marry Act.
Notice how every Democratic politician pushed back on someone calling Hakeem Jeffries a monkey, but are silent or endorse taking away trans rights as strategic. Apparently, bigotry is OK when politicians make an entire group less through the eyes of the law.
I've said it before, but it bears repeating that it's a very short line from 'Dems have to vote that way to win' to 'Dems have to vote that way to stay in office.'

Vote progressive in New Hampshire. Vote for progressive Karishma Manzur. Her challenger, Pappas voted for the Laken Riley Act, is against marijuana legalization and is Israel-First.
Yesterday 33 Democrats voted with Republicans to restrict free speech by defunding federal aid to academic institutions that boycott Israel. No money for American colleges, but unlimited taxpayer money for Israel to bomb children.
After Hakeem Jeffries meeting with Jared Kushner: - Jeffries put pro-genocide Democrats in charge of Middle Eastern policy. - Democrats joined Republicans in condemning socialism and the DSA. - Democrats helped advanced the Save Act to disenfranchise voters.
Senator Markey won his Democratic primary against his anti-trans challenger! If you want to run against civil rights, run as a Republican.

Having had a few minutes to catch my breath: Tim Curry means a lot to me, especially his role in Rocky Horror. Long ago I was in a new city & joined a cast for performances (I was Brad). It helped me come out of my shell & move my life forward. To say he'll be missed is vast understatement. RIP
