Oooh. Just discovered the @atstore.fyi - a directory for all the apps of the Atmosphere. Wow! With user ratings and comments, etc. Note that if you are reading this on Bluesky, you *have* an Atmosphere acct already so can use these apps. atstore.fyi

both server-first and client-first approaches have strength and weaknesses. obviously you won't see churn in each paradigm in isolation because it's simply given up on doing "the other side" anywhere close to well conversely, you should expect some churn in paradigms that actually bridge them

Most of what I've learned in IT, Software Engineering, and UX/UI Design is—very plainly—because people could not be bothered to gain even the most basic understanding of computers Think about the number of times you were asked, as a computer science major, to troubleshoot phones and laptops

I think LLMs have made me grow and learn as a dev A lot about building things is knowing what exists, what methods work well, and when to apply it all. With an LLM i'm constantly learning about things I didnt know and building things in ways I would never of had time to before

Labelers v2 in Standard Reader: we deleted our own labelers. Any atproto labeler now works with zero setup, and your installed Bluesky labelers follow you to our app! The directory is the whole network, ones we think are for @standard.site near the top.

There are many things being built on atproto. Many of them won’t get adopted or thrive. And yes, many are built without user research. It’s OK? Don’t use things you don’t want to. Promote things you like. And build something yourself if you feel like it. Do it the way YOU want it to be.

hard pill to swallow for atproto developers/creators: 99% of potential users either do not care about, value, understand, or want to “own their own data” i see so many apps/projects lead with this “value prop”, but it’s not an important or meaningful consideration for most people
