Social Security recipients could see a 3.5% cost-of-living increase in 2027, averaging about $71 more per month. But with groceries, housing, and health care costs continuing to rise, that increase may not go far. Our seniors deserve retirement security and financial stability.

Social Security cost-of-living adjustment for 2027 may be above average. Some say it's not enough

The Social Security Administration is expected to announce the cost-of-living adjustment for 2027. Projections point to a higher-than-average increase.

#NV04 is now home to North Las Vegas Fire Department’s first training center. The improved training experience will sharpen skills & develop leadership of NLV firefighters, while delivering life-saving results for residents. Proud to see NLV continue to lead the way in workforce development training

I joined Commissioner Tick Segerblom, Assemblywoman Shea Backus, and Native Voters Alliance at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day. This day is about reaffirming our commitment to Nevada’s Native people and Tribal communities.

Three years after the horrific October 7 terrorist attacks, we remember the lives taken, the families forever changed, and all those still carrying unimaginable grief. May the memories of those lost be a blessing, and may we continue working toward lasting peace and security.

National Night Out connects the community with law enforcement to strengthen trust and public safety. Thank you to the brave men and women of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and North Las Vegas Police Department who run towards danger when others seek shelter.

I joined survivors, families, first responders, and members of our Las Vegas community as we broke ground on the Forever One Memorial. I’m grateful to everyone who has worked to make this memorial possible and ensure future generations never forget. Forever One. Forever Vegas Strong.

Congratulations to Dr. Sandra Richtermeyer, Nevada State University’s new president. NSU has grown and expanded throughout the years, including a new campus coming to North Las Vegas. I’m excited to see NSU’s continued success under President Richtermeyer’s leadership.

Celebrated the graduates from the U.S.VETS transitional housing program. No veteran who served and protected our country should have to experience homelessness. Orgs like U.S.VETS provide programs and services that are essential for so many veterans in our community transitioning into civilian life.

I joined Commissioner William McCurdy II to light up the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, and to celebrate the Latino and Hispanic families, businesses, artists, activists, and community organizers who strengthen Nevada everyday.

I joined the Moapa Band of Paiutes and Arevon to celebrate the Moapa Solar Project’s 10-year anniversary and recognize the people who made this project possible. Tribal communities continue to play an important role in Nevada’s energy future and I look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings.

Washington Republicans’ OBBB changed the gambling tax deduction and will force players to pay taxes on money they’ve LOST. We must reverse this unfair tax that is hurting Nevada's economy, and we’re one step closer to getting it done now that our bill has passed out of committee in the House.

My FULL HOUSE Act is about bringing fairness back to our tax code. You should never be taxed on income you never actually received. Read my full statement here:

To all those observing Yom Kippur in Nevada and across the country, I wish you a meaningful day of reflection, prayer, and renewal. May this sacred time bring peace, forgiveness, clarity, and strength for the year ahead. G’mar Chatima Tova.

My FULL HOUSE Act is being marked up in the Ways and Means Committee this Wednesday, which means relief for Nevadans is one step closer. This unfair provision means you can be taxed on money you never actually received when gambling. It was wrong from the start, and now we’re fixing it.

Shana Tova to Jewish families across Nevada and around the world celebrating Rosh Hashanah. As the new year begins, may it bring good health, renewal, and peace to you and your loved ones. Wishing everyone observing a meaningful and joyful new year.

Twenty-five years later, September 11 still carries a different meaning for every American. Today, we carry forward the compassion, service, and shared purpose that brought us together in the face of tragedy. We honor. We remember. We serve. We will never forget.

Tameka Henry’s name has become synonymous with education here in Southern Nevada. And now, it’s memorialized on the Tameka S. Henry Acelero Learning Center. This well-deserved recognition is only one moment in her legacy still in the making.

This Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, we’re reminding every Nevadan that asking for help is a sign of strength. If you or someone you love is struggling, support is available. Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You are not alone, and help is within reach.

I had the opportunity to tour the Mineral County Courthouse with county commissioners and learn more about the history that has shaped the community for generations. Understanding where a community has been is an important part of understanding where it needs to go.

I met with the Nye County Commissioners to discuss ongoing projects across the county, their progress, and growing concerns around data center development. I heard directly about the challenges they’re facing and the work already underway, and I’m taking those priorities back to Washington.

In Amargosa Valley, I met with local stakeholders to discuss protecting one of rural Nevada’s most important resources: water. As new development comes to our state, we have to be smart about how we use and conserve water supply. I’m working with local partners to explore solutions.

I spent 3 days traveling the rural parts of my district to hear directly from constituents. I listened to local elected officials, community leaders, small business owners, and families about their concerns and worries. I came out ready to go back to DC with action items for the rural areas. #NV04.

I visited Las Vegas Meadows to talk to residents about issues most important to them. Their priorities are clear: protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Grocery costs are high, medication costs are rising, and Social Security & wages don’t keep up with inflation. Nevadans need relief now.

Three days on the road across rural Nevada gave me the opportunity to hear directly from the people. Whether we were talking about protecting water preparing for jobs, keeping energy affordable or building infrastructure communities need one thing was clear: rural Nevada is planning for its future
