Wandered into my favorite art gallery in the LA-area and stumbled upon the Gravity Falls exhibit

Iโve been slowly coming out of an extended depression/creative burnout, a recovery which is now beginning to pick up speed in the form of a new big weird story idea that I am VERY excited about. Last night I even drew something for fun!!! It feels so good to be back, I missed this feeling ๐ฅน
Smooth Grace (I drew this in 2.5 hours, don't judge my scribbled art haha) Because every time I draw Grace, I draw his scruff in last, and it always looks wrong without it. #projecthailmary #phm #rylandgrace #rockyphm #art #comic
When some comics became intangible online, paper became *visible* to artists again, leading to beautiful new paper comics. Now, when some "art" becomes inhuman, *we* become visible to ourselves again. What beautiful new *human* art might be the result?
Trying to itch that hard-to-reach spot on your back

HEY WEBCOMIC READERS! I bring you a hot tip from the far past of ye olden time webcomic readings! Webcomic corps hate you too, and your reading library could vanish tomorrow (like Tapas will at some point this year) Build your own list! If ppl don't self host, bookmark where they DO post!
Until then, a hot tip from the 90's: Build a bookmark list called "webcomics" Order them by when they update in the week (drag and drop) Read down the list thru week. Add to the list as you find new comics. Can confirm, as a person who struggles with exective disfunction, this is easiest way XD
Going to plug my website guide once again: blog.itsnero.com/webguide/ This will get you online with a website in an afternoon. It's not the fanciest or most modern way to do it, but it's code that has worked for decades. Get yourself a site ASAP and figure out what else you need to do later.

This is exactly why I focused my comic on my own personal site. You can promote your comic through social media platforms by posting snippets of your comic, making clips or just posting illustrations related to your comic. 1/2
everyone's going to have to stop leaning on platforms like this to 'find their audience' because the audience is fake and also it doesn't actually belong to you. it belongs to the platform and it will remove you from the equation as soon as they can.
Character & Comic by @pitiyindee.bsky.social Script Proofread by @maximjdev.bsky.social This is Smoothie๐ฆฆ and Mango ๐ from my ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ด๐ผ๐ป comic I draw back in 2022 before putting it on hold to plan a much bigger story ๐ช Hopefully to revisit them when the story is ready!
tbh I don't remember a time when I WASN'T playing video games of some kind, but Jumpstart 3rd Grade was pretty damn formative. In terms of non-educational games... maybe Wario Land? It was one of the first games I owned for the Gameboy Pocket (my first console!) and blew my imagination wide open.
What's your "origin" video game? Most gamers have a lot of favorite games, sure, but there's always one that basically ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ด you. I'm talking about the game that flipped that little switch in your brain and made into a life-long gamer. So, which game is ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช๐ง๐จ?

Iโve had a conversation like this at every networking event Iโve been to in the last year:
โOne ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words.โ - Goethe
I cannot overstate the power of sharing and gushing about art you like. it is *everything*
Pro tip: you donโt have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they canโt support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! Itโs completely free outside of an internet connection ;)
I think this is the version of "There is no Winning in Comics" that I'm going to go with. At least until I decide to go back and make some more tiny changes.
witnessed something at dragon con I canโt get out of my head
Finally saw Coyote vs Acme and the hype is legit! It felt like a modern Who Framed Roger Rabbit that manages to feel like a modernized Looney Tunes that DOESNโT just lean on edgy jokes or pop culture references. Go see it and show Zaslav that classic feature animation IS something the people want!
Finally got a new apartment figured out (in a GREAT location, I'm excited), I should be getting paid for a bigger freelance job soon, and my art/writing block feels like it's finally starting to crack! I'm sooooo ready to be past this depressive transitional period and back on track with my life ๐ฉ
Welcome to We ๐ Webcomics Digital Comic Fair!! We got plenty of new comics to browse through! โจ ko-fi.com/spiderforest... โจ
I've been in a weird place in life lately which has come with a lot of art block, so I'm simultaneously trying to get more comfortable with drawing more loosely as well as with my freshly shaved noggin
It's fascinating what people prescribe to other people as "performative". Just because certain words, phrases, actions, behaviors, beliefs, etc don't come naturally to you doesn't mean that everyone else is forcing it for attention. It's also just a useful second person plural word!
Minor point but I really hate this performative โyโallโ people do to try and appear more folksy. I donโt type in a Yorkshire accent and I did people would rightly tell me to shut up.
Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people
This is spot on, but Iโd even go so far as to say that communication is THE most crucial skill you should learn to develop both in your professional and personal life no matter WHAT you do. Poor communication is the root of sooooooo many avoidable problems. Itโs life changing! Just talk to people!
Dear artists, You NEED to keep in contact with your commissioners. That's right, all of them. If they paid you money, you MUST communicate with them and tell them what's going on. You cannot just ghost someone for months and months after promising a quick turnaround and expect them to be happy!
