Weekly horror movie podcast from genre writer/critic Stacie Ponder, creator of the long-running horror blog Final Girl. Co-host of Twin Peaks pod The Detective and the Log Lady. Frequent essayist for Arrow Video, etc. 🌈 https://linktr.ee/FinalGrrl
#nw The House That Screamed Or La Residencia @finalgirlafterdark.bsky.social did an episode on this movie. I had to check it out, I'll come back to finish the podcast after I watch this.
Born on this day in 1967, Happy Birthday, SHERYL LEE! 🎉
Love this movie so much
3/22/26 Blow Out (1981, Brian De Palma, Criterion 4k disc) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Late to the party on this one but thanks to @finalgirlafterdark.bsky.social I am now fully on board with this brilliant film. Sleazy and queasy in turn, but masterful in every frame. Listen to FGAD episode 2 for more!
An hour plus of @finalgirlafterdark.bsky.social going deep on Barbara Stanwyck's lesbian bonafides on this week's podcast rescued this entire week from despair
New episode of EVOLUTION OF HORROR reunites our favorite Detective @mikemuncer.bsky.social and our favorite Log Lady @finalgirlafterdark.bsky.social to talk two J-Horror classics — and before you ask the most important question YES Stacie’s cockney char-woman accent makes a reappearance #stopthegob
First day recovering spent basking in a rare political victory for the good guys and @mikemuncer.bsky.social and Stacie Ponder talking about possibly the best Japanese horror film (and ONE MISSED CALL) on Evolution of Horror. I'm doing OK.

What a treat this was!
After 13 years of podcasting, we’re *finally* tackling David Lynch and we couldn’t have done it without special guest @finalgirlafterdark.bsky.social Tune in now to hear our conversation about mutant babies and the myth of America. pod.link/591499834
On this day in Horror History, THE SENTINEL was released in 1977.
I will talk about the brilliance of SPICE WORLD anytime and anywhere, but I had an A+ terrific time talking about it with Jason! Oi give it a listen!
What would a Spice Girls movie be like, exactly? Stacie Ponder from the hit podcast @finalgirlafterdark.bsky.social joins me in celebrating Girl Power as we discuss "Spice World" from 1997!

Smashing windows, pulling people out of cars, disappearing people off the street. Restaurants and shops are closing after raids, or out of fear. The left is starting to arm up. I've had friends pointedly "questioned" by seeming informants. Media isn't conveying what it feels like here right now
I'm not doing a lot of posting here, but I can tell you, Maine is absolutely under seige. When ICE comes in, they come bringing terror.
On this day in Horror History, THE VVITCH premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2015.
Bruce Davison not only starred in TITANIC II, he also directed a Bigfoot movie featuring Danny Bonaduce, Sherilynn Fenn, and Alice Cooper. He was also once married to Lisa Pelikan, who starred as Jennifer in the 1978 film JENNIFER, a CARRIE rip-off where she speaks in tongues and controls snakes
I've had a grand time--A GRAND TIME I SAY--dual-wielding RESIDENT EVIL boners on this multi-ep ride through Alice's hair journey, but this week it wraps up with AFTERLIFE (2010), RETRIBUTION (2012), and THE FINAL CHAPTER (2017). Available now at finalgirlafterdark.com or wherever podcasts are cloned
I've loved every dizzying high, sad low, and creamy middle of this journey through the Resident Evil films and I'm so glad to have dragged you along with me
Binging the Resident Evil movies over the past couple of weeks to keep up with @finalgirlafterdark.bsky.social’s podcast and Johann Urb just showed, it’s all been worth it (in all seriousness these movies are so much EXTREMELY DUMB fun, I should’ve watched all the sequels earlier)
My new favorite thing is setting the bridge of Red Velvet's (banger) "Cosmic" to horror movie clips
This zombie (in the picture) (and also me) is calling to tell you tere's a new episode of the pod awaiting yr earholes wherein I dive into RESIDENT EVILs APOCALYPSE and EXTINCTION. Don't worry, I discuss all the major topics, aka JILL VALENTINE. Listen at the link, etc www.finalgirlafterdark.com
There’s a GoFundMe for Jonathan Ross’s legal expenses for murdering Renee Good. This violates GoFundMe’s Terms of Service. Everyone must report it. A thread on how to do that 🧵
Hmm, maybe it's because things feel so bad and bleak right now, I don't know...this film makes not a lick of sense but I really enjoyed it for its earnestness and...niceness. (And the practical fx and gore!) I don't need nice good feelings in my horror ever really but this shit felt like a balm
The government is saying that violence rules. That snatching foreign leaders and territories, and shooting US citizens in their cars at point blank range, is justified. That resistance is not only futile, it is dangerous. They can say these things. But they cannot force us to believe them.
