Half punk half hippie. Union electrican for life. Democratic Socialist.

They should be covered in solar panels and/or windmills but that would bring ICE raids to the immigrants working there

Ya know, the more I quietly learn about data centers and the local manufacturing industry in Cedar Rapids...General Mills uses more water here than the city does. Data centers went to closed loop systems around 5 years ago? They aren't using the river to cool like nuclear does.

This is the Western Veil Nebula (NGC 6960) which I captured from my garden. It's a particularly beautiful nebula due to the striking colours! This is a supernova remnant and is around 2000 light years away. The blue and red colours are due to ionised oxygen and hydrogen.

I really can't wait to see the SuperSoaker against an ICE glove videos. Bucket of water, what have you. Grounding is a wonderful thing. Path of least resistance stuff

THURSDAY: A federal judge is opening a public phone line. You can listen….live…as Katie Phang’s suit against Todd Blanche over the Epstein files goes before Judge Sullivan. No spin. No panel. No press release. Just YOU, a phone, and a judge who isn’t taking DOJ’s word for it. Dial in.

The stunning Crescent Nebula, also known as NGC 6888, is a glowing shell of gas energized by powerful stellar winds from the Wolf-Rayet star WR 136 (the bright star at its core).. Credit: T.A. Rector (NRAO/AUI/NSF and NOIRLab/NSF/AURA)

I’m sorry, you simply can’t lead your newscast with that Miller tape on the birthright citizenship “order” without pointing out that that’s not the damn way it works. It’s just not journalism.

Well people keep showing up for the money. Most are going to the Google site. Google was the one that brought our wages up. Even the manufacturing companies in Cedar Rapids had to up their wages to keep their electricians to stay put. So at least 5 years of growth for families in CR.

Stunning: HH 49/50 Over thousands of years, its boundary will move outward, eventually visually covering the distant background galaxy from Earth's viewpoint, demonstrating the dynamic, changing nature of astronomical phenomena. (Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI, NASA-JPL, SSC)

I'd love to credit whoever wrote this. No idea. But I'm 100% with its message. When I think of how the '80s ethos, "Greed is Good" has metastasized, it surprises and depresses me. Imagine having so many millions, hundred of millions, even billions & caring about nothing except your own vanity.

Data centers went to open loop, river in river out, to closed systems. Cool your own shit. Now they are using a gas to cool the servers. Still need water but less. Electricity demand went up

I'm feeling so feisty, to y'all white collar folks. I'm fighting for Union by my skilled training against the very same people Trump supposedly wants to deport!
