And, of course, there’s a real chance of *another* by-election in Clacton sooner rather than later. The egotism involved is off the charts. I do wonder whether people who voted for him this time might tire of indulging it.
And now the investigation into the £5 million secretly-gifted by an ‘economic migrant’ recommences. If nothing else has been achieved with this daft by-election, the idea that Farage is some sort of master strategist has been put to bed. It’s easy to look good when you’re getting free passes galore.
A lot of hubris on display in Clacton this morning. Or technically not on display, I suppose.
Wow this is a bad result for Farage. In the most Reform friendly seat in the country should get more than this - and Binface’s result shows once again that the centre and left will vote for literally anyone to try and stop him.

So Farage didn't attend the count but was at something described as a "political Glastonbury". Presumably the tickets were hideously expensive and the whole thing will be covered live on the BBC. I guess Zia Yusuf will be on "The Other Stage".
Those who benefit most from the system want you to believe that the problems with the system are not systemic problems and are instead the fault of individuals and groups operating within the system. And the best way to avoid systemic reforms is to get those individuals to blame and hate each other.
Drilling for oil and gas will absolutely not lower bills. It's sold on the international market. And the idea of this being for jobs is utter nonsense. Jackdaw would create about 27 jobs. So when is the moment Andy Burnham will take the heatwaves & the climate crisis seriously?
Great to speak to Matt Chorley on BBC Five Live. Why hasn't the Prime Minister mentioned the climate crisis at all? What's his plan? And will be rule out drilling for oil & gas in the North Sea? Luckily Matt is interviewing the Prime Minister on tomorrows show so can we get some answers?

I'm not seeing much anymore about all the people dying of Ebola but it's not looking good. Contact tracing is only at 12% and it needs to be over 70% to contain the spread. At this rate, within 3 months, it will have infected 20,000 people and become the largest outbreak of Ebola in history.
