🔊 dear BSKY people, I'm looking for a chatter, blabber, cocktail party background audio generator that has hopefully been used for research before. any tip or recommendation is appreciated. reposts are also appreciated as they may bring this post closer to someone that knows 🙌

Excited to share the first publication from my PhD project: how does low-dose LSD (10 and 20 µg) affect visual perception🧠 In 30 healthy volunteers (within-subject crossover) we assessed visual perception using visual contrast surround suppression (psychophysics), and subjectively (questionnaires).

Have you used Bayes factor to test point-null hypotheses in Hierarchical models and wondered: 1. Bridge sampling (BS) or Savage-Dickey density ratio (SDDR)? 2. If SDDR, which density estimation method? 3. How many MCMC samples? 4. What's the cost-benefit trade-off? This may be of interest to you.

How to best estimate Bayes factors for standard hypothesis tests? We compared bridge sampling and the Savage-Dickey density ratio. The latter does a good job in most constellations typical for experiments in cognitive psychology.

Very happy this is finally out 🎉. In this paper, we show that conf. reports are biased by a visual illusion, an asymmetrical base rate and a payoff scheme. Crucially, we show that only the visual illusion affects subj. experience, suggesting decision bias leaks onto confidence reports.

Using explicit measures of subjective experience & Bayesian ordinal modeling, this study shows that confidence reports in perceptual decisions are influenced by nonperceptual biases. @n41c0.bsky.social @fahrenfort.bsky.social @smfleming.bsky.social @juliaha.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s44...

If you are in Amsterdam on June 6 and predictions are your gig you will want to check out this very cool symposium I'm hosting and presenting in. Speakers: @eelkespaak.bsky.social, @clarepress.bsky.social, Ruth van Holst, @degeelab.bsky.social. See the program below.

To celebrate the defence of my PhD, and thanks to @ibbamsterdam.bsky.social, I will host a symposium titled "Vision as prediction: learning, action, and biases" on June 6. Program, registration and more information here: bit.ly/43reOgR
