There’s a fair few sequels being published at the moment, but I confess that, whilst I often buy sequels, I don’t often get round to reading them. So for this week’s #KidsBooksFriday, what kids’ book sequels are well worth making the time for in and of themselves? #KidsLitUK #UKKitLit #KitLit
My kids have been attempting to do a learn a bit more cookery these holidays. So for this week’s #KidsBooksFriday I thought we could do books featuring/celebrating food and cooking. (Take the theme as loosely as you please). #KidLitUK #UKKidLit #KidLit
Great deal for a book that’s going to be a popular one with readers. Fast paced and full of action, this is sure to be a big hit in KS2.

Brutal and somehow more messed up than the last one, but in the best possible way. Truly never read anything like it!
Top stuff as always from Mat, and it is always good to reflect on how your approach may impact reading habits and attitudes.
I have written a piece on nurturing lifelong readers inspired by the wonderful Aidan Chambers (pages 4-5) booksforkeeps.co.uk/wp-content/u... @booksforkeeps.bsky.social
Still one of the most read series in my room and a set of books that readers always return to. Do yourself a favour and find a way to get a copy of this new one, as I have no doubt it will be brilliant like the rest. The world needs more Mr Wolf!

To celebrate the amazing @lawrencepatrice.bsky.social’s appointment as our new children’s laureate, how about we use this week’s #KidsBooksFriday to share books that embody her message of community and belonging. #KidLitUK #UKKidLit #KidLit
Making a start in this exciting upcoming release from @metaphrog.bsky.social and @scholasticuk.bsky.social . Showed my class the cover and was told I need to hurry up and read it, so they can squeeze it in before we break up next week.
I was thrilled to see Beth O’Brien’s fabulous Wolf Siren win at the Carnegies this week. It so cleverly leans into and extends the story of Little Red Riding Hood. What other great children’s books play with well known Folk and Fairtytales, Myths and Legends? #KidsBooksFriday #KidLitUK #KidLit
Today we’re celebrating a year of #KidsBooksFriday! 🎉 So let’s go back to where we started - what great book(s) do you wish every child had the opportunity to read? #KidLitUK #UKKidLit #KidLit (Also some practical questions below…)

Amazing how much more interesting our maths lesson was today when they were working out the cost of all the new books they want to buy. Apologies to all the parents who are greeted with a wish list as a result!
Over David Attenborough’s lifetime the natural world has become ever more eroded. On his 100th birthday let’s use #KidsBooksFriday to celebrate children’s books that carry on his environmental legacy, help us delight in nature and encourage us to protect its future. #KidLitUK #UKKidLit #KidLit
We all love getting great books into the hands of kids. But there’s nothing quite so wonderful as a child discovering books they love and recommending them back to us. Which books/authors have been championed by the kids in your life? #KidsBooksFriday #KidLitUK #UKKidLit #KidLit #EduSky
Last week I treated myself to Joe Todd Stanton’s newest picture book which is just gorgeous. 😍 It got me thinking we need a #KidsBooksFriday celebrating illustrators. Which illustrators do you love? And which of their books show of the best of their style? #KidLitUK #UKKidLit #KidLit
New class favourite has revived and it has some absolutely stunning edges to go with it.
Not sure why it took me so long to get round to reading book two and it did not disappoint. Superb pacing and some of the most beautiful artwork you’ll see. Guess it’s time to get through the next couple much quicker!
A little slow to start and packed with a lot of dense storytelling, but it all paid off at the end. Suitable for all of KS2, but best served in UKS2 due to its slightly more complex story. One for the fans of Lightfall and amulet.
Loved this second book in the series and was a great read to start the day. Plenty of thought provoking story telling, but also plenty of turtle bearing people up as well which is always the highlight.
Starting the day off with this. Predator Badlands was a blast, so that was the perfect excuse to finally pick this up.
Get 25% off when you pre-order Meet the Invisibles! It's a very cool science book about tiny things! Written by Mike Barfield and illustrated by me!
