I was active duty during don't ask don't tell. It was a horrible time to be anything other than straight. I'm appalled at how quickly twenty years of progress has been undone. Of course more is going on but this is a personal time scale thing for me. In 1995 it wasn't allowed to be openly gay.Dejavu
