The Fed raised interest rates at every meeting from March 2022 through the midterm election. Also hiked a few times in 2018 before a midterm election. Also hiked every meeting from June 2004 through a presidential election. And the Fed was tightening for all of 1994 prior to a midterm election.

Hassett threatens Warsh: "I'd be wary of a rake hike. The Fed has had hiked rates ahead of an election only a couple times all the way back to 1913. So I think if you want an independent Fed, one thing the Fed does is stay out of the way of elections."

On 9/11, I was in my apartment in Brooklyn, revising my manuscript for my first biography: “Jesse James: Last Rebel of the Civil War.” I’d pitched it to publishers under the title, “American Terrorist.” I argued the so-called Robin Hood is best understood as a forerunner of the modern terrorist. 🧵

Let's focus on what we can all agree on: hating Mrs. Stuyvesant Fish. On September 27, 1903, Marion Graves Anthon Fish tipped over her punch bowl of bile for the New York Times. Second only to Mrs. Astor in Newport & 5th Avenue prestige, she scorned all. Mere racism alone was not enough!

An interview from the New York Times, September 27, 1903, with Mrs. Stuyvesant Fish, in which she scorns Black people, poor people, impecunious nobility, Theodore Roosevelt, and Edith Roosevelt, who, I quote "dresses on $300 a year, and looks it."

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Trump reminds Americans that he incited a mass attack on police officers and the United States Capitol. I must admit, it's a helpful reminder of what's at stake in this midterm election.

The president just posted to Truth Social his video from Jan. 6 in which he told the protesters who had taken the building that the election was stolen but that they should go home in peace. truthsocial.com/@realDonaldT...

The regime is seriously talking about executing this plan to spike both inflation and interest rates. Borrowing $1.25 trillion for hand-outs right now is insane. Democrats always clean up Republican messes. The one Trump has made is staggering. It won’t be fun attacking the debt as it is.

Dear Americans: I do not care about your 9/11 story. I don’t care about mine, and I lived in New York. Only the experiences of victims and rescuers matter. For New York, 9/11 lasted months, years. The photos of the missing, the smoke, the smell of fire, disrupted subways, those who just vanished.
