Made art of a Thylacine mixed with a Ribbon Eel, enjoy it

A black and white illustration of a monstrous creature based on a thylacine that has been englongated into an eel-like form, curving and shrinking into the distance. The monster only has two front legs that it is propping itself up on while it has its jaws open wide towards the viewer. It appears to have a lump towards its far end, implying it has eaten something and is digesting it. The art is intentionally sketchy and colored messily with half tones to evoke a sense of horror.

#WIPSnips from Ethel Was Alone- I didn't have spooky but I do have Eerie. Something strange about Ethel's house.

There was almost no sound in there while Ethel was outside working. A clock ticked on the kitchen wall, occasionally a board would creak, but it was almost eerie instead of peaceful.
She asked about the other men's clothes that appeared in the washing occasionally, but her hostess claimed to sleep in them. That was fine, there was no reason for it to be untrue, but they had a smell to them- faintly earthy, like they had been worked in. Possibly from being bundled in a hamper with the rest of their wearables. There was the occasional spot of blood on the collar. She asked Ethel to buy peroxide on the next trip to town.

#WIPSnips from Bloody Terrible, waiting and reflecting

He had more important fish to fry and sweeter revenge to get than he would give up on account of that hack's advice.
After a long day of waiting he now sat on the large rooftop air conditioning unit of The Rear Wing, feet dangling, kicking impatiently. He hated to be this close to a group who wanted his head on a stake so bad, but he had reason to believe his prey would be stopping here. He silently congratulated himself when he was correct, hopping up as his target moved on a few moments later.
The silver poisoning may have stolen his elegant flight, and his Brougham may have had a rattle that set his already nervous form on edge, but he still had his quick step. If he had to follow on foot, he would do so happily.

#WIPSnips - Reverie of the Bell aka "I woke up in a story my friends made me hate because the MC has my dead name so I don't have a clue what's happening" From a side project I write in discord when I'm bored (expect typos). No rattle, but something rattling and also bells ringing

Heavy, slow bells ring around me like chruch bells to announce someone's death. The dummies shift, falling to their knees in a wave outwars. My heart beats hard in my chest, a painful anxiety forming. A voice over the speaker shouts in fervent, urgent fear.

"Rev!" someone shouts. "You have to kneel!"

I don't recognize the voice over the din of the bells or my heartbeat in my ears. Instead I feel sharp claws on my shoulder and I turn to face a plume of dark feathers and a beak mask with golden eyes staring at me. The birdlike claw hand lets go of me, but the stranger still stares expectently.

My mind finally catches up with what I am seeing. The first thought it gives me is "Hot."

#WIPSnips - Gods Play House No "equate" so instead have Seemore getting Lyric to do equations

Seemore scoffs. “You do that math in your head?”

“Huh? Yeah?”

Seemore stares. “Muse? 1942 minus 147.”

Lyric thinks about it for a moment. “1795?”

“1893 plus 19?”

“Huh? 1912.”

“42 times 37.”

“Damn, dude, don’t ask me multiplication!”

“You want a pen and paper for that one or…?” Seemore reaches over and then slides over a notepad and pen.

Lyric shakes his head. “I don’t get you, but, fine, you played my game. I guess I can play yours…” He writes down the numbers, thinking as he counts on his fingers and then does his work. “1554?”

“You’re good at math,” Seemore deadpans.

Lyric looks up, offended. “I never said I wasn’t!”

“Oh, I’m Lyric Muse,” Seemore mocks. “I’m a college dropout, boohoo. Fuck off, man, you’re good at math! Who cares if you don’t have a degree?”

#WIPSnips - Gods Play House "Market" in place of peddle, but also the salespitch about something Lyric, a god, believes

Lyric looks up, surprised. “U-Um… My… My grandparents were who…” He sighs, dragging a hand through his curly hair. “My parents really care more about their own reputation than me. I swear, they only had me as a publicity stunt. Market the image of being loving parents but then leave me with my grandparents the moment the audience isn’t looking…”

Clyde frowns. “I’m sorry to hear that… Honestly, some people should not bother having children. To bring a child into this world only to treat them like a toy…” He shakes his head. “Despicable…”

Lyric looks at Inkwell who shrugs. “You… really care about people, huh…?”

“I can’t stand those who use their power to harm others,” Clyde says. “There will always be a hierarchy. Those who have power over those who do not. A parent over a child, a manager over a worker, a god over the average person… How those in power use their weight is what matters to me. To hurt those who rely on you…”

“Hold on,” Lyric says. “Who says Gods have more power than people?”

“Hmm?” Inkwell blinks. “I thought it was well-known that the Gods have the ability to alter, well…” He motions around. “Reality?”

Lyric shakes his head. “Nah, I don’t vibe with that, Indy. I had a friend before I met you… My pal Earnest. He was…” He smiles. “I… I really liked him, I’ll say that…” He pauses a moment, as if searching his own history for an answer he doesn’t have. “I lost track of him, but he talked about going into politics… ‘Gods are as Good as People’. That’s what he’d always say. The Gods are still human, just like anyone else in Magi Nation. Maybe they do got more power on a literal sense, but… That don’t mean they get to have more rights than Mortals, right?” He lifts his brow. “They don’t get to have different Morals than Mortals, do they…?”

Pro tip: if someone tells you the only reason they think your (published) work might not be genAI is because of how many punctuation/grammar errors are in it and your only response is "it's not genAI" Well I don't care if it is or isn't now, it really shows you don't care about your work's quality

#WIPSnips from Bloody Terrible- reflecting after an incident

"First encounter with a monster hunter?" Nostriano asked, chuckling weakly as he lowered himself into the booth at DeSantos Italian. Everything hurt, pulses and twitches of pain running down his back and arms. He had to lie down, closing his eyes to protect them from the hanging light overhead. He also had to try to lighten the mood. Renee may not have been in hysterics, but she probably wasn’t doing well.
He had started to worry the moment she left his line of sight, had known then it was a mistake. She may not have been the target of any attempt on his life, but she was just as easy collateral for him as against. Seeing her in danger had crystalized that, made his blood boil with more than just the silver poisoning.

#WIPSnips - Gods Play House Lyric hanging out with Seemore solo to learn how Seemore works. Turns out Seemore has the most gallows humor possible.

“I— Okay, whatever.” Lyric crosses his arms. “Yeah, you ain’t your dad. Your dad wouldn’t…”

“Call out your bullshit?” Seemore asks. “Not care that you’re a god and treat you like he’d treat any other person…?”

Lyric hesitates. “You’re a little like your dad.”

Seemore snorts. “Yeah… That’s what I keep hearing. But you know what I got that my dad doesn’t?”

“What?”

“A pulse.”

Lyric snorts despite himself. “Dude!”

Seemore laughs. “Okay, okay, I’ll quit it. That’s only funny so many times before it gets old.”

Lyric rolls his eyes. After a moment, he adds “But, uh… not as old as the eggs I’ll throw at ya if you keep that up?”

Seemore laughs harder. “Yeah, that’s fair!” he wheezes. “You’re good, man.” He holds out a fist and Lyric bumps it with his own. “Hey. No more tears, right?”

#WIPSnips - Gods Play House Saw this prompt and immediately thought "Oh boy, which instance of 'nation' do I get to use for a story that takes place 'in Magi Nation?'" despite knowing the clear answer.

“I don’t think you should worry too much about that.”

“Why not?” Seemore asks.

“Because none of this is real,” Lyric says, shutting his eyes. “I mean, it’s real to us, so don’t get freaked out, but this is just a Story, and we’re Gods. We’ll fix it, it’ll just take time, but time can’t stop us…”

“Muse,” Seemore says. “We live in Magi Nation. Of course none of this is real. It’s not a secret.”

Lyric opens an eye. “…What?”

“Yeah, no,” Seemore says, shutting his own eyes to lean against the wall like Lyric is doing. “We’re in the land of make-believe. Imagination, in Magi Nation… Everyone I know in Wimdy knows that. But we’re just trying to live our lives anyway. My life is real to me, and the impacts I make are real to the people I help.” He opens an eye to look at Lyric from the side while the other two stay closed. “Wait, is that something they only teach out in Wimdy? Do other high schools not have freshman philosophy and that course on the inherent non-existence of the world and the value of kindness despite it?”

#WIPSnips - Gods Play House Been a while since I posted one of these, but here we have more Seemore and his first dive into the Uncanon Valley

Seemore looks down into the darkness. Even with the pitch black, he can see flashes of blue, just like the Mortals who rarely get to peer into the Valley say. The cause of the rumor of some monster living in the Pits that sends up the Bad Ideas that rarely escape the Valley…

But the blue is just Metta’s familiar glow… And the Ideas feel familiar too… In a way he isn’t sure how to describe…

He jumps, holding onto his hat with invisible hands. He tumbles down faster than the elevator and loses sight of it as the light of the Haven is swallowed up by the darkness of the Valley. And yet, as he sinks into the inky well of Ideas, it feels comforting. Not unlike sinking into a comfortable armchair with a fresh cup of coffee and a new detective novel to read…

As he lands, safely and on his feet and with his hat still on his head, he stands and looks around in all directions at once at the Ideas staring back at him…

“You fucken want something or…?” he asks the empty void. The Eye-deas avert their gaze. Seemore tilts his head up, eying something of his own, something he hadn’t previously been able to see… “Oh, is that what it looks like when you’re writing the World?”

The Narrative sits flummoxed, mere paces away, that the Detective could so readily read the Story. The Story, in turn, turns to light the path for Seemore, with the visage of their dozens of glowing blue screens.

“Impressive dive there, Seemore,” Metta greets. Seemore stares at the screens, at the writing, at the Ideas, and shrugs before following the screens to where Metta’s main face and body are waiting with Inkwell barely visible beside him. “Not surprised both you and POV are willing to dive in…”

I got a comment from someone on an unfinished fic saying how much they'd want to see it finished so I finished it and I guess I wrote too fast for them that I think they suspect I used AI like no dude I'm skilled enough to write 50k words in a week if motivated enough
