This is a critical moment to take stock of the KMBGF implementation, respond to the evidence, and strengthen the conditions for biodiversity action through 2030.

Today the Global State of Biodiversity Action Report is being launched by @unbiodiversity.bsky.social at #COP17Armenia.

Dear Abhi, my wholehearted congratulations: what a well-deserved achievement. Crossing fingers, this will support your future career and you'll remain inspired by the @terra-cluster.org research on geo-biosphere interactions!

Amazing 2nd field application at #Weiherhof near Haigerloch, again with amazing weather: Drone images showclear differentiation of the individual fertilizer applications. Now, we are ultra-curious if that picture will be mirrored, once doing a drone flight above the growing wheat field. STAY TUNED!

🌱 Our SECOND field trial of the #EcoFutureUT project is now established at #Weiherhof! Next up: our third and final trial at #Kleinhohenheim. Together, these trials will show how #EcoFuture_KAP4 performs across different soils and farming practices.

New paper out! 🌱 Low soil phosphorus conditioning enhances mutualism in Rhizophagus irregularis, regardless of nuclear organization, even when P conditions shift. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Visiting our @terra-cluster.org #FynFUN PhDs during their work at the Fynbos Biome was fascinating: What successfull progress in sampling! Great strategic move by Frank Schurr (@unihohenheim.bsky.social) & @bossdorf.bsky.social (@unituebingen.bsky.social ) to locate GeoGENE next to a local brewery🍻

Incredible: another Ukrainian famine is unfolding, this time in Russian-occupied Oleshky. The remaining inhabitants of what used to be a thriving small city, now down to about 6000 people, are blockaded by Russian forces and cut off from food and water. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Oleshky: Eating garden weeds to survive in Russian-occupied city cut off from food and water

The BBC has spoken to residents in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian town of Oleshky who say they are being "constantly shelled".

Wow - now I'm a bit jelaous that I did not volunteer to represent the @terra-cluster.org at this amazing meeting (but, as it seems, also amazing location). Happy to hear that you had insightful discussions and came back to @unituebingen.bsky.social with lots of new inspirations and collaborations 👏

At Monte Verità, researchers from geology, biology & beyond explored how tectonics and geomorphology shape biodiversity. Highlighting a need for cross-disciplinary language to understand how the geo- & biospheres interact across space and time, the workshop built upon the goals of the TERRA Cluster.

🌱 The first #EcoFuture field trial has been established at #Kastanienhof! We are testing #EcoFuture_KAP4, a multi-component biostimulating fertilizer combining fermentation substrate, long grass, biochar and endophytic fungi. Next: trials at two additional farms.

What Counts as a Microbe?

The word ‘microbe’ literally means 'small life.' Yet, there are species of microbes that are not microscopic and others that are not alive. So, is 'microbe' helpful shorthand or overly reductive?

SCIENCE HAS REPLACED RELIGION BECAUSE SCIENCE TELLS THE TRUTH !

I'd love to credit whoever wrote this. No idea. But I'm 100% with its message. When I think of how the '80s ethos, "Greed is Good" has metastasized, it surprises and depresses me. Imagine having so many millions, hundred of millions, even billions & caring about nothing except your own vanity.
