The world may have conspired against me with a power outage yesterday, but I'm not going to let that slow me down today! The Endless IV run in Phasmophobia continues, where I'm getting every ghost type and then some. Time to knock more ghosts off the list! www.twitch.tv/waromelette

So I've been thinking. Should I start with a stream name? Or name it after? ∞🐍∞ You can tell it's a low-energy Sunday since I can't even think of a proper title or haiku for this one. But it still raises good questions for future streams. Roll on in for FFV Career Day at: twitch.tv/hamelinprize!

Community Gems (tbd)
name change pending
4th September 2026 (last edit 10/25/2026)
OVERVIEW
In Community Gems (name change pending) you challenge a person from the pool of people who want to be part of this to stream a good game of your choice. Upon completion, you draw them a badge of completion for their Twitch/Stream page (320px X 220px NO GEN AI) and they pass the blessing to the next person.
The whole point isn't for the token but to just play something new, to you, that someone else finds wonderful.
GUIDELINES
First and foremost, it needs to be a good game. Janky is ok, but it needs to be fun and enjoyable.
The person(s) who accepts the game cannot have played it before
Game should take no more than 20 hours to complete. There are third party sites that can help you figure out how long, on average, a game takes to complete. The goal is to respect people's time. However, if the receiver(s) agrees to a longer game, by all means, play!
Game should be free or emulatable. If you really want someone to play a specific game that costs money, you can buy it for them, at your own expense
You must stream the game you are given. Aside from it being proof you played, seeing those ah hah moments, the discoveries, it's pure joy for both sides.
Getting help or using a guide is ok. Just make an honest effort to try first.
You must create the token that is given to the person(s) who completed your game
TOKEN
You must create the token for the person(s) who completes your game. The token should be 320px x 220px at 72dpi. DPI and length can be more, it just shouldn't be wider than 320px since the idea is to put it on your Twitch page in the about section.
You can use public domain art, create your own, use sprites from the game - https://www.spriters-resource.com/ ABSOLUTELY NO GEN AI. The token needs to have room for a logo so this is a unified thing.
There is a pixel image emulating Super mario land with placeholder logo and I completed words on it.COMMUNICATION & SELECTION
For communication purposes a Discord server WILL be necessary. The thought I have for how to select the person(s) who plays your game is that you offer the game to the group to see who HAS NOT played it before and wants to take it. If multiple people respond, then the current person can choose which person(s) to hand off to or if everyone agrees, heck, let everyone that wants to play, play. There's no rule saying it can only be one person at a time.
Regarding the Discord server it should remain specifically for communication about this and not general everyday stuff. We have groups and other servers dedicated to that stuff. I prefer this server to remain a place to converse and figure out the games. I do not have time nor the desire to moderate another server. Anyone will be allowed to invite other interested person(s) to the server. It will be invitation only. No spamming the url for all to see just to keep out bots and BS.
FURTHER THOUGHTS
I am very open to additional feedback. I am an organized person and want a backbone for this project where everyone is on the same page and knows what they are getting into. I do want to keep track of who has the game and where it goes and all that. There will likely be a spreadsheet to keep track of all this.

POSSIBLE NAMES
Lairian: Heartfelt Handoff? Cozy Chaingames? Take This Treasure?
Muht: Gamer's Bounty? Silver Rupee?
Boyks: Community Chest
Retro: Community Gems ← so far my favorite of the group but I am still open for ideas.
There are progress images the logo which is a treasure chest full of retro styled game controllers.
LOGO PROGRESS
I originally was going to make the logo vector art and then decided it's going pixel because that felt more fitting as most games played will likely be retro.

Sketch of Logo Clean inks of sketch

Pixel inks First pass on colors

Better rendering of the metal and wood & additional rendering to controllers

DRAGON AGE KNOWERS: I'm a Mass Effect superfan. I KNOW I will love the story & characters of Dragon Age, but I struggle with the gameplay style... I *want* to start with Origins but I've bounced off it 4-5 times now. (Human Noble & Mage classes)
