What I don't understand about Rayner's comments on banning crypto donations is, once more, that these *are not* donations in crypto, they're donations from crypto billionaires The donations aren't in crypto because pretty much nobody does anything in crypto (except money launders, drug dealers etc)

BBC News: Mass trespass staged in PM Andy Burnham's constituency "They walked on to the Winstanley Hall estate in Wigan as part of their calls for a change in the law to bring in a Scottish-style right of responsible access to land and water that is privately owned." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

If we had a coordinated, national approach that we should be eating target foods, you could line up supply & demand nationally getting a shift in economies of scale’ Sarah Newton - lead Birmingham Food Systems Team www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Columbia has been violating its 1953 agreement with the city that allowed residents to pass through their campus since they shut down the Palestine protests. The school caves to the bullying of Trump but won't honor its commitments to its neighbors. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/05/n...

Privatisation means our water only serves shareholders, while we get hosepipe bans, sewage and higher bills Stephen Fry sent this message to Keir Starmer and Steve Reed in February 2025. They failed to listen Andy Burnham needs to listen because more than 8 in 10 of us agree with Stephen Fry

Graphic of a quote by Stephen Fry: "“The Prime Minister and Environment Secretary should step in, stop the crisis at Thames Water by taking it into special administration and then bring it into permanent public ownership so it works for all of us... It's a scary moment, but it doesn't have to be. It could open the door to sorting out the sewage crisis once and for all.”"

Trump claims that he graduated 1st in his class at the U of Penn's Wharton School in 1968. But research by student newspaper "The Daily Pennsylvanian" showed that Trump's name was missing from the 1968 Wharton Dean's List of top 56 students. But keep checking the mailbox for that $5k check, folks.

Reform UK and Christopher Harborne say the mega-donor crypto billionaire is living in the UK (so the overseas donor cap supposedly won't affect him). Since when? A claim form filed by Harborne in the High Court only this June lists his address as (still) in Bangkok...

Screenshot of the top portion of a UK High Court Claim Form (form N1). Handwritten-style red text at the top left of the header reads "Amended Claim Form under CPR r.17.1(1) dated 9 June 2026", beside the Royal coat of arms and the printed title "Claim Form". To the right, the "In the" field is completed: "In the High Court of Justice, Kings Bench Division, Media and Communications List". The Fee Account number is blacked out; the "Help with Fees – Ref no." boxes are blank. A "For court use only" panel below shows empty Claim no. and Issue date fields.
A blue-shaded note in the middle reads: "You may be able to issue your claim online which may save time and money. Go to www.moneyclaims.service.gov.uk/make-claim to find out more."
Under "Claimant(s) name(s) and address(es) including postcode" is "Christopher Harborne", with two lines of the street address redacted with black marker, followed by "Bangkok 10330, Thailand".
Under "Defendant(s) name and address(es) including postcode" is "Benyamin Naeem Habib"
To the right is a circular court seal reading "High Court of Justice – Queen's Bench Division", stamped "09 Jun 2026", overlapping the word "SEAL". Beneath it, partially cropped, is a case number

I did a somewhat deep dive into the recent OpenAI and Anthropic "hacks" for an upcoming interview. IMO, the AI companies are better off running with the "rogue AI" story because the real story is actually pretty embarrassing. Like making your Wi-Fi password "wifi" embarrassing. 🧵

We were promised a better postal service, at lower prices. We got neither. Privatisation failed It would cost just 0.1% of the UK national debt to buy back Royal Mail In public hands, we can reinvest profits from parcels into improving the overall service and run it solely in the public interest

Screenshot of a Daily Mirror headline that says "Royal Mail blasted for 'repeatedly' missing delivery targets as Ofcom urged to act EXCLUSIVE: MPs accused Royal Mail of not taking the delays seriously, leaving the public missing hospital appointments, court dates, or having late fees added to bills that simply didn’t come"

Abdul El-Sayed: "Weijia, with all due respect, this is the third time you've asked about a Twitch streamer ... their whole game is to make us fight culture wars so that we don't pay attention to the fact the president has made $2.2 billion ... "
