Today you're going to see a lot of tributes and assessments of Gloria Steinem (I thought this one very good: www.thecut.com/article/glor...). You'll also see some people raising her involvement with the CIA, and others ignore it. (That obit doesn't even mentioned it.) What was that about?

A great piece overall but I also sent it to a bunch of friends today for the PS part about all the "GLORIA WAS A CIA SPOOK" which is one of the wildest examples in recent memory of bots figuring out exactly how to derail conversations on the left.

A police officer in Chatham was identified by my grandmother (a Holocaust survivor) as a former SS officer. He got to live to old age and everything. I'm sure there's plenty of stories like that one in it.

Same story, but CBC chooses a headline that actually misrepresents the study and frames climate change as a now irreversible problem. The actual study, as AP notes, describes going over 1.5C and how to get back under that threshold.

Yes! Great point! I actually own a Garmin GPS that just plugs into the lighter. It's handy for me since I don't have a car in the winter & have to rent a lot of cars. Saves me having to turn my GPS on & risk being stalked & also saves me having to pay the rental company fee for in-car GPS access.
