DC United defeat Loudoun United in inaugural DMV Derby

DC United was able to do enough to hold off Loudoun United with a 3-2 win in the inaugural DMV Derby at Audi Field on Wednesday night. Oscar Avilez, Nikola Markovic, and Nathan Ordaz had the goals for DC, while Thorleifur Úlfarsson and Lucas Piras got the goals for Loudoun. It was the first time the teams had played each other in an official match of any kind, and it was a chance for some players to get some much needed reps with the team on a break from league play.

This was my first in person DCU game in probably a year or so. The vibes are definitely much better now. Personally, I loved seeing all of the El Salvador kits at the stadium.
