There’s something about this middle aged bald guy that’s just thrilling

On the actual match -tell you who is a top football player: Enzo Fernandes. Feel like the price tag led to a bit of an overcorrection about how ordinary he supposedly is.

Almost as if Leeds ultimately couldn’t compete with £180m worth of midfielders linking up well there (with a couple more World Cup winners sat in reserve)

Keep reading ‘cost of gaming’ stuff but… p4p is it not probably the best media still? Recognise there’s a bump to get over on the hardware but beyond that it’s only a lot if you’re buying all the AAA games at launch? Which was always the case anyway.

Playing golf for the first time in a year on Sunday. Went to the range yesterday for some practice and hit absolutely every single club in my bag the same length. I’m telling you it’s an absolute con.

I do think the manoeuvre is typical of a bad form of left thinking: a cherished liberal myth about a good state or institution is shown to be at best a partial truth (fine!) but is then the basis for a maximalist rejection of any distinction between flawed institution and its worse alternatives.

Sorry but no, it is in fact notable that the US is doing something only very extremist regimes do. To willingly abandon “this isn’t who we are” as a response is to throw away a very powerful rhetorical weapon.

On a scarcely believable episode of Political Thinking, Tom Watson explains that noted surveillance company Palantir doesn’t match his definition of “surveillance capitalism” and has the UK’s best interests at heart. His greatest ethical regret, he explains at length is having worked with Corbyn.
