I make sure that my eldest daughter isn't parentified. It's tricky because she's by nature a caregiver. But she's not obligated to do things & I remind her & her siblings all the time.

Everyone in my family failed me and now celebrate my wins as if I wanted this life of being the parent. “We don’t worry because you’ll figure it out” yeah nigga this is by force not by choice.
