Writing in all its forms, whether for the page or for the voice, is a wonderful way of expressing hopes, fears, loves, losses and everything in between. We’re delighted to include musical performers in this year’s fest.

Poetry is a vital form of expression that connects individuals, conveys complex emotions, and fosters empathy across cultures and generations. During this year’s fest, you can meet with and hear from a number of poets, writing across a variety of topics.

So you’re a writer. And you want to be get published. But how do you make it happen? Our popular Get Published series of events is back. This year, you can also get advice on Pitching Comics with Gary Moloney and join in an interactive creative writing session with the Witty Wicklow Writers.

Every story is based in reality. They often teach us something impactful and show us aspects of ourselves. Our ‘real’ stories this year speak to resilience, understanding and empowerment.

We take the ‘World’ part of Cork World Book Fest very seriously indeed.

Dán na Caillí is a multimedia performance featuring newly commissioned poetry about the Caillleach by Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha, Dairena Ní Chinnéide & Eithne Ní Ghallchobhair. With songs from composer, vocalist &instrumentalist Síle Denvir; & on-screen visuals from artist Margaret Lonergan.
