i love experiencing "thing, other country" if im in another country and theres a thing that is largely similar to something back home but slightly different i am very excited about it

I think stuff like this is important to remember. Change doesn't begin at the top. In the US, states enact progressive laws piecemeal, and feds (hopefully) catch up. Eventually. Which is why the fact we're seeing DSA mayors and state reps is a big deal. A BIG deal.
