I'm sure this is explained in the manga, but I really like how in the Hunter x Hunter anime, Leorio just discovers nen and develops his nen powers completely offscreen. I like to imagine he just figured it out from reading a bunch of medical textbooks
The funniest thing about nostalgia is that it'll have you be nostalgic for things that weren't remotely good or interesting. Was just sitting here like wow..... I remember filling out surveys in my first year of university in exchange for iTunes gift cards...... wow....... <3 <3
As always-Sarah & co produce such great videos I know literally nothing about any video topics covered by this channel Yet i’m always entertained & left with random knowledge about fandoms I wish I knew exsisted back when If I was in Seattle still, I would 💯% go see her live show in a couple weeks

huge for me bc in 2011 i helped a friend write her syot fic. it’s gone forever now & all i remember is we were VERY proud of the humor (?) & it was gonna end with a proto-rebellion which the capitol makes everyone forget & sends the rebel tributes to districts 11 & 12 to become katniss, peeta & rue

Sarah's last few videos have included some incredibly powerful history and journalism and this one is in large part her reading her own childhood fanfic and it is still absolute top tier videoing. A true polymath, a modern DaVinci.

Incidentally I think about all the folks who are recovering/reframing the Bronte juvenilia or other collective writing/home performance as part of the history of roleplaying, & also how many of the Actual Players I spoke to had experience in forum RP and/or fannish circles like this.
