Polls close in Michigan in under a half hour (except for 4 U.P. counties) - I’ll be spending the night down in metro Detroit at watch parties for Perry Johnson and John James in the GOP gubernatorial primary.

Early (and I cannot emphasize enough, VERY early) results show James up with a significant lead over Johnson. Mike Cox and Aric Nesbitt are still on the ballot, despite both dropping out. Cox dropped out well into the absentee voting period and right now has double-digit support.

So far, split public comment (with cheers in response to both sides) on the extension. There's 110 public comment cards today, so lots more expected. The council will consider the proposal itself later in the meeting.
