Glad someone senior from the sector is pushing back. Labour MPs need to understand the serious real anger from graduates and the people who produce them. And the dangerous financial situation they have allowed to fester, or indeed worsened, in one of Britain’s leading sectors.

Looks like we need to remind ourselves of this graph. Few cases doesn’t mean nothing to worry about. I’m not saying there’s a pandemic round the corner, I’m saying we need to think smart and act fast, just in case.

Two graphs of exponential growth. Public health say “under control” till the line is nearly vertical (ie late in the day). Scientists recognise it’s exponential even in the early phase when nothing appears to be happening.

Scientific journals "adding value" episode# 658,447. As an exercise I wondered what they (Springer in this case) would charge for a figure to be cited & reproduced for use in freely accessible professional development - for 4 years, they want $1600. I wonder how much the authors get?

Good news that we are now talking about reversing Brexit - thanks @london.gov.uk - because the more sensible people talk about it, the more others will realise how it either causes/ contributes to many of UK’s problems or makes fixing them more difficult. Can’t ignore it for ever
