'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

Random thought: Since faces and fingerprints are regularly used to access devices, are they included as personal data protected by GDPR? if so, can surveillance photos and automatic facial recognition be considered a breach of that privacy?

Often people ask "why should I care?" when a company is in financial trouble. Sony is desperate, spider man is the only IP they have left, they needed the new film to succeed, BMW & sony negotiated a LOT of cross promo money, like hell they both aren't gagging to get ther money's worth.

That "men should be allowed, without judgement or consequence, to do an amount of harm to women and girls that I personally deem acceptable" seems to be a genuine opinion still held by too many people in the year two thousand and twenty six is incredibly grim

“War”. What “war”? It’s a massacre, a genocide, a slaughter of defenceless civilians, including tens of thousands of children & babies, doctors, nurses, teachers, journalists sanitised by “balanced” media reporting of Western media outlets. Was Auschwitz a “war” too? www.rte.ie/news/2026/08...

Mass funeral held in Gaza for family killed during war

In a cleared plot of land between buildings flattened by airstrikes in Gaza City, row upon row of Palestinian flags were laid out neatly over the remains of dozens of people to be buried.

Imagining generals across the services taking missiles and weapons systems and reclassifying them as humanitarian aid so Hegseth doesn't waste them all on Iran

I just saw a dude argue that Christopher Nolan has created the most interest in The Odyssey that has ever existed in history and please, someone hit me with a tranquilizer dart that will allow me to sleep through next year’s Oscars. Please. I can’t take it.
