The government should be applauded for scrapping the cruel two-child benefit cap in the budget. But tackling poverty requires more, writes @ruthpatrick0.bsky.social.

The two-child limit will go. @nuffieldfoundation.org research by the fab team below showed the limit & the benefit cap didn't meet their behavioural aims & harmed families. Huge thanks to the team & to the families who shared their experiences. Evidence matters: today it seems it was heard.
