THREAD: 1. Some years ago women academics contacted me unsolicited on Twitter (which I no longer use) about an academic in Melbourne. They’d made complaints to a faculty head about the man’s targeted, obsessive bullying of women colleagues, including First Nations women. The university kept him on.

We'll release the very first #InverteFest Anthology on the first day of #InverteFest, 24 April! It's almost finalized and it looks really good. We have 17 incredible submissions from writer/artist partners, all about invertebrates, and I'm really looking forward to sharing it!

I’m really excited for this SF! With it we’re trying to combat the positive bias in publishing - how we and reviewers are inclined to only lift up research that goes as expected. But we all know there are so many lessons to be learned when you get unexpected results, or when things don’t work. 🧪

Ecological Solutions and Evidence is accepting proposals for their latest Special Feature! They invite scientists and practitioners to share experiences from management projects that didn't turn out as expected, but still provided important insights into how best to manage ecosystems and species 🌱

We found this amazing earwig at a bug light last night. This one is a male, they typically have larger pincers. There is not much info available about the genus so I'm not sure why he has those strange protrusions from his abdomen. (Ancistrogaster sp.) Intag Refugio, Ecuador

A brownish-black insect with four yellow spots ion his elytra and a pair of pincer protruding from his abdomen. He is standing on a white sheet.
