This ant species is Pseudomyrmex boopis, which should be pronounced "BOOOOOOOP-is!" while bopping someone's nose, but taxonomists tell me to sit down and stop giggling and say "boo-OH-piss" like a grownup. So pronounce it however you want, I guess.

An acrobat ant worker tends sunflower aphids for honeydew. Austin, Texas. I think this photo works compositionally because of the superimposition of a single ant against the repeated backdrop of almost Xeroxed aphids.

Mama pseudoscorpion & her cute baby high in the mountains of Montana. Mama is half the size of a grain of rice. These harmless micro arachnids have no stinger, but can deliver venom to prey via their pincers. Also, they can walk backward. Also, you probably have them in your house. #BugSky 🐙🌿

Sorry if this is kind of a gross image, but it's also fascinating. These are acrobat ants that killed and are dismantling a gulf fritillary caterpillar, pulling the meat away from the ample gut contents. The passionvine plant attracts ants with nectaries, and the ants are earning their pay here.
